MUSHEGH SAGHATELYAN APPEALS COURT DECISION
Support A1+!The Court of Appeal will soon hear the appeal of Mushegh Saghatelyan, former head of the Penitentiary Department of the RoA Ministry of Justice and Levon Ter-Petrosyan’s proxy during the February 19 presidential election. The information was given by Saghatelyan’s Advocate Seda Safaryan.
Remind that Yerevan’s Criminal Court headed by Judge Mnatsakan Martirosyan had sentenced Saghatelyan to five years’ imprisonment. Saghatelyan was charged under Article 316 of the RoA Criminal Code /violence against a government official/. Saghatelyan was also fined 900 000 drams for bearing a cold steel.
Seda Safaryan has met with her client for a few times. She says Saghatelyan doesn’t have any complaints.
“Saghatelyan thinks differently and says he will continue to protest court decisions though he doesn’t believe he will succeed,” said the Advocate.
“My father is determined to go to the end and he will not yield,” Saghatelyan’s son Sevak said to A1+.
Note that an appeal has been submitted with the European Court of Human Rights against illegal imprisonment of Mushegh Saghatelyan.
“Europe has already made an inquiry into Saghatelyan’s arrest. At present we are answering their questions,” said Seda Safaryan.
