DECLARED A HUNGER STRIKE
Support A1+!Publicist Shant Harutyunyan, who is charged with the March 1 case, declared a hunger strike today in the Vardashen penitentiary, told “A1+” today press secretary of head of the RA Justice Ministry’s Department of Penitentiary Arsen Babayan. According to Babayan, the reason for the hunger strike is the following: today all post-Soviet countries are celebrating Soviet Political Prisoners’ Day and Shant Harutyunyan has declared a hunger strike to keep the tradition alive.
“As a political prisoner myself, I am keeping the tradition alive and am declaring a one-day hunger strike in memory of all those who died and as a sign of respect to former living Soviet political prisoners,” said Shant Harutyunyan.
