Today the terms of provisional arrest of Armenian detained MPs Miasnik Malkhasyan and Hakob Hakobyan were extended for another two months, by January 2, 2009. The decisions were publicised by the Court of General Jurisdiction of Kentron and Nork-Marash districts at the head of Justice Ruben Apinyan.

Meantime, the relatives and adherent of the Armenian parliamentarians staged a protest action in front of the Court. They demanded an immediate release for Miasnik Malkhasyan and Hakob Hakobyan.

“They are imprisoned for their political views and should immediately be set free,” said the protesters.

“Heroes! Heroes! Struggle till the end,” the presentees shouted at the sight of Miasnik Malkhasyan and Hakob Hakobyan in police cars.
