OTHERWISE WE SHALL HAVE THE SAME SCENE
Support A1+!“Different techniques are applied to regulate the conflicts of South Ossetia and Nagorno-Karabakh,” Avet Adonts, member of the Bargavach Hayastan Party (BHK), Armenian delegate to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), said to A1+ in Strasbourg. “The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is resolved within the framework of the OSCE Minsk group, i.e. three powerful countries, the USA, Russia and France, deal with the conflict resolution.”
“The same is not true about the case of Abkhazia and South Ossetia. I think we have chosen the best way: to regulate the conflict and define the country’s status through negotiations,” adds the Armenian MP.
Avet Adonts also detailed why Armenia doesn't recognise the independence of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.
“Karabakh’s status is to be defined through negotiations. If Armenia recognises Karabakh’s independence it means the negotiations are needless. I do think that the conflict should be resolved only through negotiations otherwise we shall have the same scene as is in South Ossetia.”
Reminder, the PACE session will resume the discussions of the consequences of the Russian-Georgian war on October 2.
