WHAT WILL SERZH SARGSYAN SAY DURING THE NA EXTRAORDINARY SESSION?

Politics

Today the parliament worked as it would when Tigran Torosyan was chairman and of course, you can’t expect the “rise in the role of parliament” today, but you could at least expect to see order, even formal. But no, the deputies still pressed buttons of the absentees, most of them left the hall after the voting and there were very few deputies left after the first session and many got the impression that the session was over.

It was an unusual day for the Republican Party faction. Right after the president’s decree, former head of the Republican faction Karen Karapetyan started to “get things ready”, left his room at around 1 p.m. and bid farewell to his friends as he left the parliament building.

We found out from Republican Party speaker, NA deputy Edward Sharmazanov that the issue concerning the post of head of the party faction will not be clear until the return of President Serzh Sargsyan. But there were some behind-the-scenes rumors that Republican Party vice-president Galust Sahakyan may become head of the faction.

In fact, Serzh Sargsyan will make a public announcement on Thursday evening during the NA extraordinary session. None of the deputies knew what the announcement was going to be about. Some predicted that it might refer to the amnesty, while others thought that it could be an announcement concerning the Karabagh issue.

There were others who thought that the President would simply present the development plan, just like Russian President Vladimir Putin did when he presented the Putin Plan.
