"PEOPLE WERE SHOT DEAD TO PREVENT POWER TAKEOVER"

Politics

After the March 1 events Gor Kloyan’s mother Azatuhy Manukian found her 29-year-old son already dead on the operating table at 4 a.m.

“Gor’s body was still warm. His face was lined with cold sweat. I was crying like a madwoman and cleaning the sweat but Gor was already dead,” Mrs. Manukian told A1+.

On March 1 Gor had woken up with a strange feeling. “He told us that his teeth had fallen out in his dream. I said the dream betokened about something awful. As my parents were ill I thought something terrible might happen to them. “You are again using your vivid imagination,” said Gor. It didn’t even occur to me that it was the last day I saw my son,” continued Mrs. Manukian in tears.

Gor had left the house at about 8 p.m. He had learnt that people had been forced off Liberty Square and were grouping near the Statue of Miasnikian.

“Gor had never gone to rallies before. But he was very interested in them; he read all newspapers and followed the current news. When I learnt he was near the Statue I got anxious and began calling him but he was out of reach. So, my husband went to fetch him.

My anxiety doubled after Sargis said he couldn’t find Gor in the crowd.”

Later in the day one of the neighbours called on to calm down Mrs. Azatuhy. “Don’t worry! Gor has been wounded in the leg and is being operated on. He will get over,” she said without knowing that Mrs. Azatuhy was ignorant of the latest events.

“After seeing my tears she began to console me. I remember nothing else. I begged everyone to take me to the hospital but they said the streets were blocked. I don’t remember how I got to the hospital.

After seeing all my relatives in the hospital I realised that Gor’s state is grave. It was 2 a.m. Wounded and beaten people were being taken to hospital. Doctors gave a piece of paper to a woman standing in the corner and said her 31-year-old son had died. I felt sorry for the boy as he was too young to pass away. I couldn’t even guess that the same fate was looming for me.

An hour later I was given a piece of paper. At first I thought it was for blood drawing as Gor had lost a lot of blood. Gor's blood was Rhesus-negative. I ran after the doctor to say that I have the same group of blood and could donate blood for Gor. Later on I understood that all our efforts were vain as Gor was already dead.

I yelled that I wanted to see my son but there was no one in sight. I hurried to the operating-room but found no one there. Then I heard my husband's voice coming from the boxing. On entering I saw sargis bending over Gor’s head and crying bitterly. Everything was already over…”

The parents were told that their son had died because of the massive loss of blood which was later confirmed in the certificate of death.

Gor’s father says Gor had a good mobile phone in his hand and shot everything he saw. So far the telephone hasn’t been returned to the parents.

A month later Gor’s father had gone to the hospital to talk to the surgeon. “He said after the operation he had been in depression and didn’t go to work for three days. He confirmed that the death had been caused by massive loss of blood.”
