“AUTHORITIES ARE IN AGONY”
Support A1+!On September 10 the Armenian National Congress issued a statement which runs,
On September 9 six citizens went on a hunger-strike on Northern Avenue demanding the release of the political prisoners. At about 10 p.m. the police illegally clamped down on the people gathered in the avenue and took the protestors to the police station. Vladimir Karapetian, Coordinator of Foreign Relations of the Armenian National Congress, was among the strikers.
“The regime has lost its temper. The authorities transgress not only legality and morality but also the bounds of logic and good sense forcing the police to take illegal actions. The basic expressions of human rights, every poster, every action of protest leads the bandit regime to an attack of schizophrenia.
Each day proves their biological incompatibility with the civilized society, and each day of the government adds to the disgraceful pages of our history. All these evidence to the symptoms of the regime’s agony. It is inevitable for a regime that has earned the hatred of its own people and lives with the awareness of its illegitimacy,” runs the statement of the Armenian National Congress.
