REPUBLICANS WIN OFFICES
Support A1+!Four Republicans won offices during the May 18 elections of district heads of Yerevan City. District heads of Avan and Nork-Marash, Taron Margarian and Varazdat Mkrtchian, will hold office for another four years. Deputy district chair Arthur Gevorgian was elected district chair in Davitashen and head of the trade and delivery department David Ohanian-in Malatia-Sebastia.
With the exception of Varazdat Mkrtchian the other three were sole candidates. Mkrtchian gained 3072 votes while his contenders Ashot Margarian and Garnik Martirossian got 212 and 49 votes respectively. 3393 eligible voters participated in the vote.
Boxer Arthur Gevorgian is the son of former commander of “Sasna Tsrer” detachment Samvel Gevorgian and the nephew of former Armenian parliamentarian Ruben Gevorgian.
