PROTESTERS HAND LETTER TO PROSECUTOR GENERAL
Support A1+!On April 18 the relatives and friends of Armenia’s political prisoners continued their protest action at the RA Procurator’s Office.
“We shall continue our struggle until our husbands, brothers and sons are freed,” said a woman-protester. “We want to find out whether they watch the action behind the windows. As you see we are received with utter indifference,” said another.
The protesters were delighted with yesterday’s reception at the U.S. Embassy in Armenia. “We want the international community to know that “the Armenian people will not conciliate with the current situation.”
Today’s protest was attended by former Chairwoman of the “Hayastan” foundation Manushak Petrossian, member of HZhK Political Board Ruzan Khachatrian and “Zharangutiun” Party MP Stepan Safarian.
“The protest action is spontaneous. We want to protect our rights. We hope that the protest actions will help release the political prisoners,” said Manushak Petrossian.
“We have no other way to voice our protest. Unfortunately, the protest actions are unsanctioned and inadmissible for the authorities. Real criminals are set free while innocent people are sued for their political dissent,” she says.
Today the protesters handed a letter to the RA Prosecutor General with a demand to free the political prisoners of Armenia.
