SILENT PROTEST ACTION NEAR PROCURATOR'S OFFICE
Support A1+!Today several dozens of young people held a protest action near the RA Procurator’s Office with the following posters, “Release political prisoners immediately!” “We shall win,” “Struggle to the end!” etc.
They stood in silence for twenty minutes and then joined the people near the Statue of Miasnikian.
To note, it is already forty days since the tragic events of March 1. Today RA citizens held protest actions in different parts of Yerevan in memory of the March 1 victims.
“We shall join our friends near the Statue of Miasnikian in a few minutes. We demand that the authorities release the political prisoners. I don’t care whether the President-Elect swears an oath or not. I can say one thing for sure: we shall not surrender. Even if they arrest everybody, there will be a person to lead the people,” said one of the protestants.
“Yesterday Robert Kocharian thanked the Armenian people. But people do not need his gratitude. During his office he has worked only for a few people. He enriched his small group of acquaintances. We don’t need their money. We want to live in a normal country. Let them know that we are the masters of the country,” said Elia, member of the HHSh young wing.
Leader of the “Hanrapetutiun” (Republic) Party Aram Z. Sarkissian, Levon Zurabian, Artak Zeinelian and David Shahnazarian passed by the protestants minutes ago. They stopped for a moment, stretched out their hands and went to the Statue of Miasnikian.
