CEC REFUSES TO ANSWER TO PHONE CALLS

Politics

Voting booths are installed in differently at various election districts. According to the law, the voter should stand with his face to the election commission, but it is violated in many election districts. For example, violations are registered at 1/17, 10/28 election districts.

This position of the voting booth embarrasses a voter, since those sitting in the back easily see whom the voter has elected. Our journalist called the Central Electoral Commission to find out some details on the law. We should mention that during the last two days the CEC has been reluctant to answers to our calls. Yesterday, the press speaker of the CEC did not answer to our phone calls, but today she answered in the following way: “We are on air, we may follow us on TV, I cannot talk to you”.

As to the voting booths, she noted that voters should stand with their faces to the election commission, but at those precincts where it was impossible to do, the voting booth was isolated by ribbon. “We will take measures if we receive any application claims”, said the CEC press speaker and disconnected the phone without listening to our second question.
