KOCHARYAN’S ROLE WILL BECOME CLEAR ON 9 APRIL

Today at 10:45 Paronyan Street in Yerevan was closed, since at number 24 school after Spendaryan, where 9/11 election district is located, a number of high ranking officials have been voting for many years during the elections.

At 11:00 a.m. Robert Kocharyan was to carry out his civil duty. The cars escorting him arrived at the election district at 11a.m. . He and members of his family voted and then Kocharyan answered to the questions of the journalists. “No one should doubt, whom I have given my vote to. I have voted for stability and prosperity of Armenia”, said Robert Kocharyan and added: “Each election is a real trial for us on the way to democracy, which we are to overcome more powerfully. And I am convinced that today’s election will prove that. From the point of view of maintaining democracy, we will register a very serious progress”.

He informed that he had the feeling that everything would be fine. “I do not want to predict. I want everything to complete in the first round”, said Robert Kocharyan, adding that the voters were to decide the quantity of the rounds.

“I will go to work on 20 February in the morning as usual”, he pointed. To the question what feelings he had before leaving the presidential post, Robert Kocharyan responded: “I will answer to that question on 9 April”. He left the precinct in high spirits. Yerevan Mayor and Kentron Community Mayor were standing in front of the precinct. While Robert Kocharyan was voting, citizens were prohibited to enter to the election district.
