THEY WORK WITHOUT REMUNERATION
Support A1+!During the campaign period the RA citizens get acquainted with the programs of the presidential candidates particularly by the representatives of the parties, who visit the residents disseminating informative booklets.
“Sometimes we visit the citizens to hand in the candidate’s program, but they ask how much money we want to give them”, told the young people who participated in the campaign. Similar stories were told by the representatives of other parties. When we spoke to the residents they told us that the candidates’ representatives were not well-informed and were unable to answer to their questions.
“A1+” tried to find out the systemized activities of the parties and their principles. The “Armenian National Movement” party informed that all works were based on social principles both in the regions and in the capital, but they could not tell the exact number of people who worked for them.
The ARF party informed that their representatives worked both on paid and non-paid basis. “It depends on the size of a particular district and whether we have enough volunteers involved in the campaign activities or not, then we involve other people who want to work on paid basis”, informed the party.
The “National Union” party informed that groups comprising three representatives of the party worked in the regions and in the capital. According to the party, their representatives are well-aware of the party’s activities and objectives.
The “National Democratic Union” informed that they worked in groups of 4-6 people and they were not paid. The “Orinats Yerkir” party informed that the party’s youth wing was mainly responsible for the awareness raising campaign and they were not paid.
The “Republican Party of Armenia” carries out its campaign without paying. The party is not aware of the activities of “MIAK” which carries out the campaign and advises us to talk to the party representatives for more information. “MIAK” informed us that about 2500 people were involved in the campaign activities and they all worked on social basis.
