OMBUDSMAN TO OBSERVE ELECTIONS
Support A1+!RA Ombudsman’s Office will actively participate at the electoral processes, Armenia’s Human Rights Defender Armen Harutiunian said today.
“Our citizens must be the masters of their votes and their franchise right. There is a “hotline” at the Ombudsman’s Office, through which the voters and observers can submit their complaints,” Armen Harutiunian added.
The Human Rights Defender noted that “if the elections are based on ideas and not on bribing of voters, we shall get a system where speaking about human rights will be simply senseless.”
The Ombudsman considers that “the political force that buys ballots will have no moral responsibility before the nation, will not be interested in the improvement of the socio-economic condition, and will not promote the real defense of the civil freedoms.”
Today RA Ombudsman called on the citizens of the Republic of Armenia not to sell their votes on the presidential elections on February 19.
