“WE SHALL WIN TO PERPETUATE THE MEMORY OF KAREN DEMIRCHIAN AND VAZGEN SARKISSIAN”
Support A1+!Today Armenia's former President had meetings with voters of Tavush Marz.
Residents of Verin Tsakhkahovit Village slaughtered a lamb for Ter-Petrossian's victory. During the meeting the presidential candidate noted that he “is rather insulted by the acting authorities than by Armenia's enemy on the other side of the frontier.” He introduced his adherents and assured the presentees that “the situation in the country will soon change radically.”
“You know all of them from the previous elections. Let's admit the fact that I won't achieve triumph during the February 19 elections without my proponents. I shall win to perpetuate the memory of Karen Demirchian and Vazgen Sarkissian.”
Rural residents voiced their concern over the current state of the country and the acting authorities. “We don't want to leave Armenia. We want to cultivate our lands. But the country doesn't support us. Unemployment and misery reign all over the country,” they said.
A resident of Bargavan Village blamed Ter-Petrossian for his resignation in 1998. He voted for the former President in 1991 and in 1996 but couldn't forgive his resignation of 1998.
In reply to the resident, Levon Ter-Petrossian accounted for his resignation saying that “some well-known forces sprung up and stated that they had a better variant of the Karabakh conflict resolution. But they failed to carry out their programmes over the past ten years.”
Over 3000 people gathered in Ijevan today to meet the first President.
Armenia's former Prime Minister Hrant Baghratian presented Levon Ter-Petrossian's pre-election programme in the village of Berd. “The programme highlights rural problems. Peasants are the masters of their lives. The state should only render financial assistance to them,” Baghratian said.
The last meeting was due in Dilijan.
To note, Leader of the Marxist Party David Hakobian escorted Levon Ter-Petrossian's team and made addressing speeches in Ijevan and Berd.
