“ONE CAN WIN AFTER THE FIRST ROUND”

A candidate can win elections after the first round due to his assiduous work,” Leader of the People’s Party of Armenia (HZhK) Stepan Demirchian said today while assessing Levon Ter-Petrossian’s chances to win the upcoming presidential elections. “Our main concern is to remove the acting Karabakh clan,” he added.
The HZhK leader says that their programme coincides with that of Levon Ter-Petrossian with regard to the country’s external and interior policy.
Stepan Demirchian highlights NKR’s involvement in the negotiations. Armenia should not decide for the Nagorno Karabakh Republic.
The HZhK leader promises to be consistent and to struggle to the end. “Authorities should realise that they cannot fake elections every time.”
Demirchian refused to comment on recent statements of “false oppositionists.” He only reminded that after denigrating Karen Demirchian those people today honour his memory.
“Immorality should be within limits. Their steps speak of their meanness. Their masters likely sow hatred in them towards the Demirchians.”
Stepan Demirchian also referred to speculations of the October 27 carnage, especially to some members of the National Unity Party who try to connect the terrorist act with the All-Armenian Movement (HHSh).
“Do stop this farce! October 27 should not give rise to political speculations. Our words are grounded,” he said.
“I am confident that the struggle will be tense between two presidential candidates, Serzh Sarkissian and Levon Ter-Petrossian. The authorities are seriously concerned over this,” Stepan Demirchian says. “Levon Ter-Petrossian enjoys a high rating. His rating will still increase provided the first President is given airtime.”
