If we involve the Genocide issue in the agenda of foreign relations, then the Diaspora will give more money”, said Robert Kocharyan to Levon Ter-Petrosyan when he was the Prime Minister. According to him, this was the reason that the functioning authorities involved the recognition of Genocide in the agenda of foreign relations.
Ter-Petrosyan always considered that Armenian-Turkish relation should improve. “I am confirmed that Turkey will recognize the Armenian Genocide, and that will take place when the Armenian-Turkish relations improve, but not before that”.
Reflecting on the foreign policy of the current authorities, he mentioned that they were defeated for 10 years. He pointed out that Kocharyan and Oskanya always suffered in the result of their improvident announcements and had never made any definite declaration in regard with Nagorno-Karabakh and Genocide problem. According to Ter-Petrosyan, they would be more honest if they accepted that they failed in their foreign policy.
He also underlined that the functioning authorities often confused the whole country with Stepanakert.
