SERZH SARKISSIAN HAS APPLIED FOR CERTIFICATE
Support A1+!So far ten presidential nominees have applied to the Passport and Visa Department of the RA Police to get certificates of RA citizenship over the past ten years, among them RA Prime Minister Serzh Sarkissian, People’s Party leader Tigran Karapetian, former president Levon Ter-Petrossian, AMK leader Artashes Geghamian, World Boxing Champion Israel Hakobkokhian, OYP leader Arthur Baghdasarian, NZhK leader Aram Karapetian, Heritage Party leader Raffi Hovannissian, National Concord Party leader Aram Harutiunian and RA citizen Vardan Parakhchian.
Only the NZhK leader was denied a certificate. The police states that the documents submitted by Aram Karapetian do not meet Articles 65 and 72 of the RA Electoral Code. For instance, Aram Karapetian hasn’t lived in Armenia for the past ten years.
