Politics

“We condemn yesterday's assault on Narek Galstian, the Chairman of “Sargis Tkhruni” Youth Student Union. Assaults and encroachments are inadmissible on the eve of the election,” Heritage Party member and former Ombudsman Larisa Alaverdian announced at the National Assembly today.

Today the National Assembly endorsed the amendments on the “Electoral Code.” The opposition abstained in the vote on the second reading of the draft law.

The packet was adopted with 82 votes for, 1 against and no abstentions.

Republican Party Secretary and Head of the “EC” working –group Samvel Nikoyan presented the packet provisions according to which additional lists for servicemen, policemen and hospitals will be pasted at the polling stations two days before Election Day. The lists will also be available on the website of the Central Electoral Commission.

The NA endorsed Republican Armen Ashotian's proposal to earmark 50 million AMD from the pre-election budget for running advertisements via mass media, “so that the election campaign wouldn't turn to a march,” Ashotian said. Afterwards, the Republican member advised to visit RA villages, marzes and to have vis-a-vis meetings with RA electorate. p>It is noteworthy that election deposit was reduced from 10 million AMD to 8 million and the election fund from 140 million AMD to 100 million.
