WHICH CANDIDATE WILL WIN?
Support A1+!Aharon Adibekyan, head of “Sociometer” Center informed “A1+” that the candidate who would work till the New Year had more chances to become the next RA President. “It is impossible to do essential things in a month. Those candidates who have accumulated resources will be luckier during the presidential elections”.
Mr Adibekyan considers the 2008 presidential elections are exceptional in regard with period of time. According to him, people are interested in storing food for winter and are getting ready for the New Year. “Only in 15 days after the New Year they will observe elections campaign”.
The results of the survey in the streets of Yerevan proved quite the opposite. The participants of the polling partly agree with the viewpoint of the sociologist and ensure that they are expecting for an “outstanding” candidate, who will justify their expectations. 68-year-old Silva even considers that she will not live till the elections’ day, if the prices go on increasing so rapidly. “I have been building this state for 22 years, so that I will live safe and well-off at this age, but they raise the prices, without raising the pension. How a pensioner should live with 9000 drams? What is the use of elections? I do not expect anything good from them”.
In lawyer Karen Duryan’s opinion, the society does not think of the elections much. “They only think of bread. There is a 60-90 percent of orientation. The society will make its final decision in the last month. But until the final candidates are nominated I cannot talk about my choice”.
Anahit, a student says: “The campaign will not play any role during the last month. The candidates who have managed to do something will have more chances to win. The candidates will take active steps during the last month but it will not evoke trust. They will show their true faces now”.
“When all candidates put forward their candidatures, we will get acquainted with their programs and make our choice. I do not agree with the sociologist, since the politics and the destiny of the state should not be hampered by domestic problems”, said a singer.
We should mention that Levon Ter-Petrosyan, who is determined to run for presidency is going to make a speech in the Liberty Square on 16 November. The head of “New Times” party Aram Karapetyan has been meeting the residents of the RA regions for some months already.
The candidate of the authorities Serge Sargsyan will be officially nominated on 10 November at the “Armenian Republican Party’s” session.
