“MANY REPUBLICANS WILL BACK TER-PETROSSIAN”

Undoubtedly, Levon Ter-Petrossian will run for presidency, said Ararat Zurabian, the chairman of board of the Armenian Pan-National Movement (HHSh). According to him, Ter-Petrossian will announce about his nomination during the October 26 rally.

He says Ter-Petrossian's nomination is determined by the current state in the country. “Levon Ter-Petrossian is concerned over the chaotic state in the Republic of Armenia which leads the country to ooze. He considers such permissiveness inadmissible. Armenia will finally turn into an autocratic country and become isolated from the civilized world. We still have a chance to get off this chaos,” Zurabian said.

Eight parties and 25 NGOs are confident that Ter-Petrossian is the only person capable of solving the problem.

We cooperate with other parties and organizations as well but I don't want to give names as each force is responsible for its deeds.

According to Ararat Zurabian, some Republicans will join Ter-Petrossian's team in the nearest future. “I am sure that many of them will sober up and second Ter-Petrossian. I think they will find a common language as many will prefer the country's interests to personal ones.”
