CANDIDATE DOES NOT CONSIDER HIMSELF “DADDY”

Politics

The NKR presidential candidate Bako Sahakyan voted in number 4/1 polling station and afterward answered journalists’ questions.

- How do you treat the liberated territories?

- We have not only declared our position but we have enhanced it in the Constitution. If the nation changes its position, then we’ll have to conduct a referendum and make amendments to the constitution. I think enough has been said about.

- Representatives of international structures announced that they would not recognize the NKR elections. What impact will it have on the settlement of the Karabakh conflict?

- We will continue our constructive policy and hope that it will become the basis for the international recognition of independence.

- How do evaluate the pre-election period?

- In my opinion, it was conducted on a high level.

- How do you treat Masis Mayilyan’s statements on rigging cases?

- Negative PR is happening for the first time in Karabakh. But our nation will not admit allow fraudulent activities.

- What will you say about Kosovo? Can it be a precedent for Karabakh conflict?

- If the resolution of Kosovo problem becomes a precedent for us, we will only be happy.

- What will be your first decree, if you are elected?

- We have submitted a pre-election program and announced that we intend to carry it out.

- Who will you appoint in the post of prime minister if you are elected?

- We must discuss before making an appointment.

- Will your opponents remain in their posts if you are elected?

- Political culture demands you appoint those who are on your team. But this does not mean that the opponents will be persecuted. I was fighting under the slogan “Together for Artsakh” and plan to carry it out in future.

- Sociologist Aharon Adibekyan insists that everyone percepts you as “daddy” in Karabakh. How do you comment?

- You would rather ask that Adibekyan. I do not consider myself such person, since after being elected I will implement the commitments of a president.
