Aram Karapetyan, the leader of the New Times Party (NWP) will run for presidency in 2008. The decision is determined by the party’s rating and success at the parliamentary elections.

The party is convinced that the May 12 elections were conducted with a well-planned scenario and with numerous election frauds. Therefore, the party does not accept the election results. Provided the elections were fair and transparent, the NWP would have been elected to the National Assembly. The party is currently preparing for the presidential elections, and we shall do our utmost to combat election faking,” the party’s announcement reads.
