WILL THE NEXT PRESIDENT BE ARFD MEMBER?

“The political scene will better provided the next president of Armenia is an ARF Dashnaktsutyun member,” NA Deputy Speaker Vahan Hovhannisyan announced June 18.

“The country will not encounter great problems in case the president is not a Republican. There is no need to fear that it might lead to a coup d’etat or panic,” Vahan Hovhannisyan said.

The equilibrium will be upset if both the president and the parliament are Republicans. In this case we must ponder over the country’s interests.

There are already mechanisms in Armenia to prevent dictatorship. Yet, they are still to be improved. In my opinion, only ARFD President is capable of improving these mechanisms, the NA Deputy Speaker said.

To the question why the Republicans that form a majority in the National Assembly should elect another candidate, Vahan Hovhannissyan said, “I am glad that the international community highly assessed the parliamentary elections. Armenia has some peculiarities and the voter greatly differs from the vote.”
