ARTHUR BAGHDASARYAN TO APPEAL TO CC

Politics

“The Orinats Yerkir Party (OYP) will request the Constitutional Court (CC) to consider the election results and to sue the divisional commissions at Courts of First Instance which turned down the OYP request to count the votes,” Arthur Baghdasaryan told a news conference on May 16.

The party is determined to fight and calls for unification to improve the country.

The OYP leader stated that they had made every possible effort to hinder undesirable phenomena before the voting but their endeavours were doomed to failure. “We announced about outrageous election bribes and violence in some polling stations but got no reaction,” Arthur Baghdasaryan said.

According to him, the party did not have equal footing with other parties to convey its message to the public. The irregularities reported on Election Day – election bribes, new passports for multiple voting, outages during the count – will be extended to the Constitutional Court together with footages.

Arthur Baghdasaryan finds the outages strange. Moreover, it is strange that the count was stopped on May 13 morning and in some 400 polling stations the OYP got no votes. “It is impossible. We have facts that in some polling stations, in Armavir and Lori, the tabulation was done by the district commission not by the divisional commission. We have information on a clear instruction to reduce the votes our party had got.” In one of these 400 polling stations after the re-count the votes for the party increased by 123.
