Karabakh expects nomination of fourth presidential candidate

The nomination of presidential candidates continues. The NKR Central Electoral Commission has already registered the initiative groups of the three candidates: Bako Sahakyan, head of the NKR National Security Service, Vania Avanesyan, professor at Artsakh State, Hrant Melkumyan, first secretary of the Communist Party. We have learned that the deputy minister of foreign affairs of NKR Masis Mayilyan will be nominated by May 5.

The period of nomination is calm. All the four parliament parties reached agreement on supporting a single candidate. Although there is no agreement on whom they will support. Only the Azat Hayrenik Party endorsed Bako Sahakyan. The other parties, including the opposition parties ARF Dashnaktsutyun and Movement 88 have not endorsed anyone. In backstage talks it is said that after the nomination the agreement on single candidate may undergo changes.
