DEFENSE MINISTER'S POST IS NOT A MERE PORTFOLIO FOR ARF DASHNAKTSUTYUN

Michael Harutyunyan, the Commander-in-chief of RoA Armed Forces, second-in-command will take over the post of the Defence Minister, Seyran Shahsuvaryan, the Press Secretary of the Ministry of Defence, informed ' A1+'. Mr. Harutyunyan will be in charge of the post unless the newly-appointed Prime Minister doesn’t form the new government and doesn’t appoint the new Defence Minister.
A1+ interviewed Kiro Manoyan, the Head of the Hay Dat and political issues of ARF Bureau, about Arthur Aghabekyan's candidacy. “Arthur Aghabekyan's assignment as a Defence Minister is very significant for ARF Dashnaktsutyun as the post is not a mere portfolio for the party,” says Mr. Manoyan.
Mr. Manoyan states that Mr. Aghabekyan is well aware of the current scene in the Armend Forces.
Mr. Manoyan considers Arthur Aghabekyan the only suitable candidate for the post.
To the question whether ARF Dashnaktsytyun will be dsipleased in case Aghabekyan isn't appointed, Mr. Manoyan said, “I don't think so as the Defence Minister is appointed for a short period, for 15-20 days. We shall refer to the question after the parliamentary elections.”
