“Тhe certificates of residence are the same for 1314 candidates but Samvel Babayan, leader of the Dashink Party. This is merely a trap for Samvel Babayan. I suggest giving him a chance to submit the necessary document with the Central Electoral Commission within 48 hours,” Felix Khachatryan, member of the Justice alliance announced during the CEC sitting.

Garegin Azaryan, Chairman of the Central Electoral Commission objected saying; “The certificate of residence presented by Babayan contains no inaccuracy and is compliant with the stipulated norms. The certificate was given from the corresponding passport department in Yerevan.”

Most of the CEC members agreed that the documents submitted by Samvel Babayan meet the RA Electoral Code. Thus, the CEC turned down Mr. Khachatryan's proposal.

The next question was again raised by Felix Khachatryan. It referred to Garik Martirosyan's candidature. To remind; Garik Martirosyan runs for the parliamentary elections on the proportional list of the United Liberal National Party. Mr. Khachatryan claims that Martirosyan hasn't presented the “source of his salary.” Khachatryan explains this by the fact that Martirosyan works in Russia. It is noteworthy that the CEC rejected this proposal as well.

There were no problems with other parties, and the CEC registered all the 24 parties and 1 alliance unanimously.

Meanwhile, Patvakan Hovakimyan, representative of the Impeachment alliance tried to present complaints on the incomplete documents submitted with the CEC. But Garegin Azaryan shouted at him either to keep silent or to leave the hall as he was disturbing the sitting. “I cannot stop the sitting. The issues of the agenda haven't been considered yet; I cannot answer your questions right now. Submit your notifications in written form with the CEC,” Garegin Azaryan said.

“The RA CEC does nothing. It must consider the complaints the moment they have been presented,” announces Mr. Hovakimyan. Garegin Azaryan immediately answered, “You don't have the right to remind us of our obligations and duties.”
