REPUBLICANS WON IN ARMAVIR

Politics

Ruben Khlghatyan, representative of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), enjoyed victory in the elections of the Armavir Mayor scheduled on 25 March. He gained over 8322 votes leaving behind his rival Arayik Aghababyan, member of Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP). To remind, the latter got 6844 votes.

According to the data of CEC, the election results haven’t been challenged so far. Thus, all the rumors that RPA and PAP would likely have severe confrontation prior to May 12 parliamentary elections were doomed to null. The elections were held without serious intrigues and tense struggle. The main problem the voters countered was ballot inaccuracies.

To note, 15 791 out of 25 884 voters were registered in the community. Over 598 ballots were recognised invalid and there were inaccuracies in 28 ballots.
