WILL RAP AND DASHINK ALLY?
Support A1+!IN ALLIANCE WITH «DASHINK» OR WITHOUT IT?
The parties Ramkavar-Azatakan and Dashink promote activity in the same territory. The information gives grounds to anticipate pre-election alliances among the parties.
“To tell the truth I don’t possess any information about the structures located adjacent to our office, but I see nothing in this. It is clear that we have contacts, and consultations with a broad specter of oppositional forces. This refers to “Dashink” Party as well”, Haroutyun Arakelyan, leader of RAP told A1+.
No matter how hard parties seek to enter pre-election alliance to strengthen the electoral chances, the RA political forces are still in a whirl because of the amendments to the “Electoral Code”.
«So far I haven’t heard that any party announce about their intention to ally with other parties”, says Mr. Arakelyan. The lingering of the parties is determined by the changes of “threshold”; once it was 5%, whereas now it has become 7%.
Judging by the current atmosphere of the republic, the head of the RAP, assumes that the struggle will be tense on the eve of the upcoming parliamentary elections as the pro-governmental forces will favor from the elections which is not the case with the oppositional forces. «Everything is done to provide the reproduction of the acting parliament. RAP will make its pragmatic decisions taking into account all these factors». The decisions to be made by the RAP are still uncertain; everything will clear up after the February sitting.
As for the investigation of the 2006 assault on Mr. Arakelyan, he hasn't got any news. «Just on the first day I said that I don't expect special relevance. I am determined in my decisions and in the activity of the party. We have programs both inside Armenia and beyond its boundaries. Nothing has changed so far». By the way, Mr. Arakelyan has got no threats since the assault.
