“Kocharyan is afraid not of the Sefilyan individual, but of his paranoid thoughts”, said American-Armenian politician Richard Kirakosyan about the arrest of Jirayr Sefilyan, commander of the Shushi special regiment.

According to him, like Georgia, Ukraine and Kyrgyzstan, in Armenia too the greatest danger for the authorities is the overreaction to their activity. As for the influence the arrest of Sefilyan may have on the relations of Armenia with the Diaspora, According to Richard Kirakosyan, if the information about the Diaspora accumulating weapons is confirmed, the reaction of the Diaspora will be different.

“The Diaspora always looks upon Armenia through rose-colored glasses. They give money and don't even ask what is done with that money. Shame on them”, said Richard Kirakosyan.
