THEY DO NOT KNOW SEFILYAN ANY MORE

During the Karabakh movement and the war everyone knew commander of the Shushi regiment Zhirayr Sefilyan. It was an honor to talk to him. But now when he criticizes the attitude of the RA authorities towards the Karabakh conflict, people have started to refute knowing him.

Here is our conversation with Galust Sahakyan, leader, of the NA Republican faction.

- How do you assess the arrest of participant of the Karabakh war Zhirayr Sefilyan?

- I don’t have any information. I have never related to him, and the circumstances are not clear to me.

- Mr. Sahakyan, everyone has the impression that there is no opposition in the country, that the life of the authorities is very quiet and they plan to be reelected, and then all of a sudden Sefilyan is arrested and accused of planning a coup d’etat. Isn’t this the result of the fear of the authorities?

- You know, I have never known Sefilyan. It is not that I avoid saying anything: it is just impossible for me to analyze what I do not know.

The members of the other coalition party, the ARF Dashnaktsutyun, refused to speak about it. “We do not speak about those who have left the party”, they said.
