THE COUNTRIES ARE NOT READY FOR COMPROMISES YET

Politics

International Crisis Group (ICC) won't make new reports on the Karabakh issue by the turn of the year as there have been no changes in the region recently. Sabina Freiser, director of the Caucasian project of the International Crisis Group, told Azeri APA agency.

The new statement on the region will be ready in 2007, in Mrs. Freiser's words.

«Presidents Aliev and Kocharyan are indecisive in view of compensations. Moreover, they haven't prepared the public for the compensations», announced Sabina Freiser. The presidents must explain their essence and significance to the public.

As for the two presidents' meeting scheduled on November 28 in Minsk, Sabina Freiser noted that the meeting is held within the framework of the CIS summit and «it is difficult to predict whether any measures will be taken in connection with the Karabakh conflict settlement».

Mrs. Freiser also spoke of the referendum held on December 10 in the NKR.
