DALLAKYAN WANTS TO BE UNPREDICTABLE
Support A1+!Today, Viktor Dallakyan’s proposal to pass on to 100-percent proportional system was not discussed. Viktor Dallakyan doesn’t blame NA Speaker Tigran Torosyan on this score for not putting the suggestion into the voting during the four-day session.
Though Mr. Dallakyan fears that the Republican representative of the NA (the Speaker) may make use of his jurisdiction and schedule the voting to 2030.
Reminder: Republican Party is against Dallakyan’s proposal. Viktor Dallakyan’s last hope is all those factions which may “exert pressure” on Tigran Torosyan and make him involve the initiative in the four-day session.
Today, Viktor Dallakyan voted against the amendments to the Electoral Code.
Provided my suggestion to pass on to 100-percent proportional system is endorsed, I shall take back my legislative initiative.
Viktor Dallakyan represents Lori marz in the NA. He was thrice elected by majoritarian system. He claims that it will be more difficult for him to be elected by majoritarian system than by proportional one in case doesn't represent the authorities.
“I was subjected to great ordeals during the previous elections. The Defense Minister and the Prime Minister came to Vanadzor and did whatever they wanted. But despite this fact, I won, that’s to say people won,” says Viktor Dallakyan.
Asked the question by A1+, whether he will participate in the 2007 parliamentary elections by majoritarian or proportional system, Mr. Dallakyan said, “If my suggestion to pass on to 100-percent proportional system is supported, I will face no problems and I only then I shall decide how to participate in the elections. I don’t think the main problem Armenia counters today is connected with my participation in the 2007 elections. It is not excluded that I may not even participate in the elections at all. I may even change my orientation and do scientific work. Who knows? Political figures should be unpredictable. Don’t you think so?”
