THE AMENDMENTS TO THE LAW ON “TELEVISION AND RADIO” TURNED DOWN
Support A1+!Today almost all the members of the Republican Party came to the National Assembly to provide the voting of the issues discussed during the previous sitting. Nevertheless, the party members failed to provide voting for two disputable draft laws. Namely, the amendments to the law on “Television and Radio” were voted down.
The Opposition, Dashnaktsutyun and freelance deputies didn’t participate in the voting. Prior to the voting, Grigor Haroutyunyan, secretary of “Justice” faction, asked the NA deputy speaker to keep the results of the voting on the screen for a whole.
Vahan Hovhannesyan announced, “As the bill has aroused serious disputes I ask each deputy to vote only for himself.”
But his request was soon forgotten by some deputies, namely by the representatives of the Republican Party. Haroutyun Gharagyozyan was active among his friends in button pressing and he managed to vote instead of the members of his row. Gevorg Hakobyan and Manvel Ghazaryan were also active. As usual Arshak Sadoyan complained of the deputies pressing buttons instead of other deputies. The hall burst out laughing when in answer to his complains Vahan Hovhannesyan said half jokingly, “Shall we put the bill to voting again?”
