Member of the Orinats Yerkir Party Mher Shahgeldyan who participated in the NA briefings today started his speech rather specifically: he asked the journalists to highlight their briefings and not to ignore them as opposition; otherwise they will have to revise the necessity of their participation in the briefings.

Now Arthur Baghdasaryan announces that there couldn't be more than one million electors during the referendum. Asked by a journalist how it happened that Mher Shahgeldyan signed under the number «1.5 million participants» and if half a million people died during the past year, Shahgeldyan answered that immediately after the referendum they had made a harsh statement.

Let us remind you that a year ago, during the press conference after the publication of the results of the referendum Mher Shahgeldyan noted that “the people were very active during the referendum as they realized the importance of the amendments”. When the journalists claimed that the people were extremely passive, Mher Shahgeldyan noted that the activeness rose after midday. He even claimed that there queues in some electoral areas. A year after this announcement the Orinats Yerkir party represents a totally different picture.

Today Mher Shahgeldyan announced that they were the first to speak about criminal activities in the political field, and now they have to do everything to fight against it. By the way, the OYP looks upon the coming Parliamentary elections as a fair chance to do so. Several oppositional parties have already announced that if the situation in the country remains the same, they will not participate in the elections. But the OYP prefers active struggle.

And why doesn’t Arthur Baghdasaryan come to the Parliament and sit on the chair of a deputy? Mher Shahgeldyan said that he comes to the Parliament; he just works in a separate room, and will enter the hall during the discussion of important issues.
