“DASHNAKTSUTYUN” IS THE MOST ORGANISED POWER”
Support A1+!The 10th Supreme meeting of “Dashnaktsyutyun” Party (Armenian Revolutionary Federation) was unexpectedly representative.
Prime Minister Andranik Margaryan, Defense Minister Serge Sargsyan, Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian and even Armen Gevorgyan, head of the President’s personnel participated in the opening ceremony. It is noteworthy that the latter hasn’t participated in any conference so far.
Even the representatives of the Opposition with the exception of “Armenian National Movement “ and “Hanrapetutyun” were present.
On the whole, people incomparable in their everyday activity, e.g. Arshak Sadoyan and Artashes Toumanyan, Albert Bazeyan and Samvel Babayan sat side by side. Tigran Karapetyan sat beside representatives of “National Unity” Party and so on.
Both the prime minister and the defense minister looked very tired and each time somebody made a speech they seized the opportunity to close their eyes and have a short rest.
Andranik Margaryan, Vartan Oskanian, Mher Shahgeldyan, deputy president of Orinats Yerkir, and Paruyr Hairikyan, chairman of the Union for National Self-Determination made opening speeches.
Paruyr Hairikyan mentioned that in comparison with criminal and non-political groupings the party “Dashnaktsyutyun” has entered the political arena with concrete aims. He said that he bowed before the titans of the party who helped the nation to find the right way; either death or free Armenia.
Mher Shahgeldyan reminded the audience the past and history of the party “Dashnaktsyutyun” and said that the future of the country depends on the policy adopted by political powers and is determined by the results of the coming elections. He focused on the recent attacks saying that violence has become an indispensable element of political struggle.
Vartan Oskanian spoke of the coincidence of the 10th Supreme meeting of “Dashnaktsyutyun” and the 15th anniversary of independence. He maintains that this is a good chance to think over faults and drawbacks and to appreciate the previous deeds and acheivements.
