A SEVERE SLAP FOR THE AZERI SIDE
Support A1+!“It is nonsense,” qualified Tigran Torosyan, RA NA Speaker, head of the Armenian delegation to the PACE referring to Azeri delegate Hajiev’s questions in connection with the disputed burnt areas by the Armenian side. According to Torosyan they arouse negative emotions among the deputies.
“The Azeris were likely to speak of the burnt areas in the PACE session,” claims Tigran Torosyan. Prior to that the Azeris spoke about it in groups, where according to Torosyan, nothing was decided. “In my opinion they attempt to create an equilibrium with the destruction of the Armenian monuments. On the other hand, they try to show that there are issues connected with the regions adjacent to NKR,” noted the NA Speaker. The latter doesn’t see any serious problems at present though the Azeri side is collecting signatures and tomorrow they will likely claim to make a report on the issue.
“I see no problem here, the corresponding bodies of Armenian and NKR must work together in due time in order to make an objective report if there such a necessity,” added Tigran Torosyan.
By the way, referring to the cease of the Azeri delegation liabilities in the PACE he noted, “When Estonian deputy Herkel said that we have different cultures he was not mistaken. It was a cruel assessment and if the Azeri side wants to do something for their country they must take into consideration the reality.”
Tigran Torosyan finds the adopted resolution a severe slap as the competences of the Azeri side are not ceased temporarily and the PACE will discuss the issue in the 2007 spring session where the commitment of the Azeri competences will be put on the agenda.
