OYP-NU; BATTLE 2

Politics

“The debate of Orinats Yerkir Party deputy Hovhannes Margaryan and National Unity representative Aghasi Arshakyan didn’t differ from yesterday’s debate of the two parties leaders. They also presented political and moral accusations against each other. ”

Margaryan claimed that they acted the role of the opposition while they were in the Coalition, they have 62 000 adherents, get thousands of letters and the number of their party members has increased in the recent month. As for Arshakyan he repeated Geghamyan’s words - repent for you sins and multiple election frauds to be admitted into Opposition.

He also presented Hovhannes Margaryan two contradicting documents on the results of the 2003 parliamentary elections. The regional election committee registered 15 votes for the OYP, whereas 650 votes were presented by the central committee, by the way, part of the false votes belonged to NU in reality.

Then Arskayan referred to Arthur Baghdasaryan’s announcement made yesterday which concerned to the persons from the President’s Office who exerted pressure on the OYP noting, “Isn’t is clear yet that it was done by Armen Gevorgyan, head of the RA President’s personnel” but his opponent didn’t venture to affirm it.

Aghasi Asshakyan was lead to a “deadlock “when asked a question about his party member Gagik Kostanyan. He claimed that Gagik Kostanyan does patriotic business, he supplies goods of millions AMD to the Ministry of Defense. And when Hovhannes Margaryan reminded Arskayan of the legislative order which prohibits a deputy to be engaged in any business the latter found an alternative answer,

“Gagik Kostanyan does a thing that nobody else is eager to do as everybody is well aware that the Ministry of Defense delays payments and doesn’t give them. But Kostanyan is unbiased and fair, he had a great sum of money in the Soviet period and has saved a small part of it and now he works suffering losses as he wants to maintain employment. But now the members of his family are engaged in it instead of him.”
