RAP IS NOT AGAINST TO WELCOME OYP
Support A1+!According to Haroutyun Arakelyan, member of Ramkavar-Azatakan Party the step of OYP was normal as the Coalition will not exist for ever. In his words such alliances are dissolved just before elections. He calls the decision of the OYP an inner political intrigue. “There isn’t chess mentality in Armenia and there aren’t political processes comprising of 7 – 8 steps, I see only one-step operations.”
Haroutyun Arakelyan tried to congratulate Arthur Baghdasaryan through Mass Media, “the OYP has entered into the final phase of formation.” The escape of OYP members is familiar to the RAP as three members quitted their party not long ago. As a result of this the party changed its policy according to Haroutyun Arakelyan. He claims that the same thing may occur to any party.
He is surprised by the negative attitude of the Opposition towards the OYP. “It sounds as if it is them who give licenses to those who want to be opposition. That hinders them to be united,” claims Mr. Arakelyan. Asked whether they will accept the OYP members the latter answered they the question will be discussed in their session. “We don’t have rivals either in the Coalition or in the Opposition.”
As for the activity of the Parliament Mr. Arakelyan aroused an urgent problem, when all the deputies are present only at the drastic and imperative moments whereas usually there are only 4 – 5 deputies present. Thus, he is for the dissolution of the Parliament.
He suggests having a proportional Parliament in order to avoid dissolution and then suggests annulling immunity. “Let them get deprived of immunity mania, let the Parliament alone and allow others issue laws.”
As for yesterday’s incident in the Parliament between Artashes Geghamyan and Arthur Baghdasaryan the member of the RAP noted, “Let the three of them decide together and then make their decision public.”
RAP IS NOT IMPRESSED BY THE ACTIVITY OF THE “CONGRESS”
”Ara Abrahamyan is displeased with the Congress,” claims Haroutyun Arakelyan. RAP also intends to quit the Armenian World Congress.
As for the decision of the congress to bring an action against Turkey, Haroutyun Arakelyan mentioned, “It will mean to launch a war with Turkey. We are adherents of the Armenian Dat and think that every measure taken must go in line with the general interests. I think international lawyers, scientists and participants of international right must be involved in the matter if they exist at all. And if they are sure of the victory with 90% I am for it.”
But Haroutyun Arakelyan has certain doubts about the results and deems it an emotional decision. Before bringing an action against Turkey he suggests bringing an action against the Government of Great Britain which refutes the Armenian genocide. He made such a conclusion after reading the book “Great Britain and the Armenian issue.”
