CONTRARY “MILLINNIUM CHALLENGE”
Support A1+!“The 2007 Parliamentary elections will be quite tense as the President will release his office after them,” this prediction was given by the NA vice-chairman and the member of Dashnaktsutyun Bureau Vahan Hovhannesyan in today’s press conference.
Though one of the US preconditions for giving Armenia money by the program “Millennium Challenge” was the provision of free and fair elections, the NA vice-chairman does not exclude that “nobody will save money in the direct sense of the word.” According to him “the guarantee of freedom and justice mustn’t be an individual or a political party; everybody must realize the importance of the matter. If half of the sanctions applied against Byelorussia are applied against Armenia we shall appear in an awful state. Any fraud will be severely punished.” As for the announcements of an Osharak constituency chairman Spartak Eghazaryan he said, “All his words are airy and nonsense, he cannot prove them that is why I qualify his speech as a political show.”
THERE ARE SHOW FUNS IN THE COALITION
“It is immoral to shake fists when everything is sold and on the verge of finish,” Says the NA vice-chairman and offers to take practical measures instead of beating the air. For instance, Dashnaktsutyun fraction demands a reference from the Government on the work of privatized companies and on the fact whether the owners’ promises to make investments and open new working places were kept. Vahan Hovhannesyan also wonders why the Government hasn’t taken those companies if those promises weren’t kept.
It is known that the party Orinats Yerkir “shook its fits” in the Parliament on the review. In Vahan Hovhannesyan’s words the situation created by that party “is not in line with the memorandum of the Coalition.” Another representative of the Coalition mentioned that the memorandum allows criticism, “If the criticism is healthy it won’t hinder our relations.”
By the way, Vahan Hovhannesyan complains of the Government’s work, especially of its illegal deeds, “I am not content with the work of the Government. There are drawbacks and mistakes. We have 3 ministers in the Government but the NA deputies together cannot influence on their work”
HOVHANNESYAN IS MORE ABRUPT THAN KOCHARYAN AND SERGE SARGSYAN
Vahan Hovhannesyan views the fact of giving the Russian side some Armenian energy objects in place of gas price from two angels; political and economic.
He claims that from political point of view Russia could suggest Armenia more favorable outlets, but they didn’t do it. He urges that it was the most optimal deal from economical point of view. By the way, Serge Sargsyan was the last person who spoke of the 5th energy block comparing it with a 3 - storey building which only has a cellar.
