Support A1+!“The price of electricity will not be raised because of the raise of the cost of gas”, the RA NA Speaker Arthur Baghdasaryan said in the Parliament during the briefing with the journalists. He evaluates the sale of the 5th energy block of the Hrazdan heat-electric generating plant from three angles.
“From the political point of view the issue is disturbing: the energy powers of Armenia are controlled by Russian which means the state must try to enhance its control”, Arthur Baghdasaryan said. According to him, from the economic point of view the deal is successful, “A sum of 600 million USD is invested in Armenia. Today we have an external debt of about 1 billion USD, and it would be a waste to take another 150milion as debt in order to re-exploit the Hrazdan heat-electric generating plant”.
From the social point of view Arthur Baghdasaryan considers the deal positive taking into account the fact that gas will not become more expensive at least until the year 2009..
