USA INCREASES MILITARY AID TO AZERBAIJAN
Support A1+!The Bush administration intends to increase the military aid allotted to Azerbaijan. The deputy press secretary of the US State Department Adam Elry confirmed this information. Nevertheless, he found it difficult to say how much exactly the aid will become.
According to Elry, the decision can be accepted as the continuation of the previous policy, «First of all, the armed forces must be under civic control, for the second, there must be military cooperation directed towards the stabilizing of the region, and third, the countries of the region must prepare for integration».
According to non-official data, in the next fiscal year USA will allot 28 million USD to support democratic reforms, 4.5 million USD as military aid and 885 thousand USD for trainings of the military officers to Azerbaijan, agency «Trend» reports.
