In the 8th round of the chess international contest in Reykjavik Armenian chess player Gabriel Sargsyan played with Shakiryan Mamedyarov who has the highest reputation in this tournament. Sargsyan was playing with black draughts.

Sargsyan tied with Mamedyarov, gaining thus 6,5 point in total. Now the Armenian Grand Master tops the list of players together with Magnus Karlsen and Pantella Harikrinisha.

Sargsyan will play with Indian Harikrinisha in the 9th round. By the way, this is the last round, so Sargsyan willl have a chance to take the first place in case of victory.
