«IT IS EASIER TO LIBERATE SHUSHI AGAIN»
Support A1+!«We do not have a concept about the NKR issue, and we are losing the battle», representative of the Armenians of Azerbaijan, expert Alexander Manasyan announced in the «Mirror» club today.
According to Mr. Manasyan, the Parliamentary diplomacy has its share of guilt in the situation created. He invited attention to the fact that when we did not have Parliamentary diplomacy, the international structures adopted more documents favorable for Armenia than now. «In January 1993 the CE adopted a wonderful resolution in connection with NKR expressing concern about more than 300 thousand Armenians evicted from Azerbaijan. The document mentioned that Azerbaijan has blockaded Armenia in order to involve him into war».
12 years later, in January 1995 the same CE adopts the famous resolution of David Atkinson. «The document mentioned that the Armenian side has occupied the Azeri territories. If we follow the documents adopted in connection with Karabakh, we will see that we are going back. Our official diplomacy has a wrong conception», Mr. Manasyan said.
Continuing Mr. Manasyan's speech, head of the People's Party administration Shavarsh Kocharyan mentioned the two important mistakes of the Armenian side, «The self determination of NKR was perfect both in the judicial and in the historical field. During the self-determination of nations the facts are taken into account. The Nagorno Karabakh Republic has existed for more than 10 years. It has an army. The elections in NKR are more democratic than those in the RA and Azerbaijan. The first mistake was that Armenia did not recognize the independence of Karabakh, and the second was that Armenia entered the negotiations instead of Karabakh in 1998».
According to expert Manasyan, the mistake is that in 1920 Azerbaijan recognized the right of self-determination of Karabakh. «We must not fight for the recognition of the already recognized right, but we must make the world respect that right. It is easier to re-liberate Shushi than to explain this».
