THE NUCLEAR POWER STATION WAS NOT GIVEN TO ANYONE
Support A1+!The Republican Party is not going to privatize the RA Nuclear power station. At least, the representative of the fraction Gagik Meliqyan assured in the NA that they are against it, and they will fight, but they are “for the construction of the second nuclear power station in Armenia”. According to him, the Station can work till 2016, and the construction of a second Station is a must.
The Republican Party fraction was the only one which called on the Government not to take back, but to postpone the draft for some time. Let us remind you that the draft eliminates state monopoly in the nuclear power field. Representative of the Government, deputy Minister of energy Areg Galstyan found the offer convenient and asked to postpone the voting of the draft until the next session.
NA Speaker Arthur Baghdasaryan announced that he does not believe the authors of the draft who claim that Armenia will suffer power hunger if the draft is not adopted. Another reporter, head of the NA Standing Committee on Financial-Credit, Budgetary and Economic Affairs Gagik Minasyan noted in his speech that the draft was brought to the NA on June 27 of the previous year, was included into the agenda on September 9 and has been discussed since February 27 only. That’s to say, the deputies could have got interested in the draft by now and made offers.
