“THE KARABAKH MOVEMENT WAS THE TITLE”

It included in itself the combat for both independence and freedom and democracy», the head of the National Democratic Union, member of the «Karabakh Committee» Vazgen Manoukyan said in connection with the 18th anniversary of the Karabakh movement.
According to Mr. Manoukyan, «From the point of view of the war, it is very important that we were able to win independence. We were forced to participate in a war which we won. Factually we joined Karabakh to Armenia».
According to the NDU President, the most negative circumstance is that despite the fact that today we have independence and no one disturbed us, «we built a worst country». At the same time Mr. Manoukyan does not lose hope and thinks that everything can be corrected, «The intellectual and moral potential of the Armenian nation has not been exhausted; the thing is that the power has been taken by people who do not understand how much harm their do to their own country».
From the legal point of view Mr. Manoukyan considers that issues put forward as a result of the combat which started 18 years ago are solves. On the other hands, he thinks that «formally we are independent, but we do not have an independent society. Honest people must take the power and start to change the system». As for the existence of such people in Armenia, Mr. Manoukyan is convinced, «There is no sense in sitting and waiting. Everyone must join in the combat. Only then can we expect something to happen. This situation cannot last long».
