AGGRESSION ON ARMENIAN CHURCH
Support A1+!Armenian residents of Turkey inform that an armed attack took place on historic St. Grigor Lusavourich Church in Caesaria. The assailants attacked the church crying out Islamic and Anti-Christian calls.
What gave cause to the incident was «the cartoon war». Honoured Mesrop II Patriarch of Constantinople stated that though the Islamic world has right to express ire against the publication of the cartoons, but, anyway, it is incomprehensible, when the sacred places belonging to minorities are assaulted. “Unpardonable and meaningless deed in itself, that can be given a wrong political interpretation”, the Patriarch said. He reiterated again that any manifestation of violence cannot be justified and is liable to condemnation.
