HRANT KHACHATRYAN PROPOSED FOR OMBUDSMAN
Support A1+!At the morning sitting Justice fraction nominated CRU leader Hrant Khachatryan for RA Ombudsman.
Today NA sitting began with questions of opposition. Justice bloc secretary Victor Dallakyan suggested postponing and voting on Ombudsman’s election question until the next four-day sitting and offered to hold negotiations. NA Chairman Arthur Baghdasaryan liked this last offer and in his turn suggested gathering in his private office to discuss the situation. He considers that the discussion is urgent as they are «constrained by Constitution» and must elect a Human rights defender immediately. “40 signatures were collected for repeated nomination of Armen Haroutyunyan and if this question is not discussed today violation of human rights will take place, of those who have nominated him”. – Arthur Baghdasaryan noted.
Representative of Justice fraction Vardan Mkrtchyan spoke against it, saying that they’re going to propose a new candidature which cannot be prepared in several hours.
The suggestion of opposition was declined. Now the opposition began collection of signatures for nominating Hrant Khachatryan's candidature. The question will be discussed after break in NA.
