BELARUS BETTER THAN RUSSIA?
Support A1+!«We wish Lukashenko were the last dictator of Europe», head of Georgian delegation Georgi Bokeria stated in PACE.
Presidential elections are expected in Belarus in March and it's suggested in PACE that a resolution must be resolved on the situation in the country on the threshold of elections. According to the report Belarus transgress all the international documents it has ratified. There is no freedom of speech, violations are realized against journalists, human rights are violated.
Belarus is not a CoE member. As Bokeria noted all that was going on in Belarus under the straight influence of Russia.
Russian delegate Jirinovski reacted immediately saying that he wouldn’t allow to speak in such a way about his country, Georgia would better think of not throwing oppositionists into prisons. Generally, there's an apparent straggle between Georgians and Russians in PACE. «They escape not from but to Belarus as distinct from Georgia. Over 2 mln people have escaped from that Georgian democracy», - Gennadi Zyuganov marked. He noted that there is no unemployment in Belarus, all the pupils go to school and the elections are just.
Representatives of Belarus suggested that those criticizing them should go and see what was actually going on and not believe «words of some oppositionists».
PACE, besides decision to resolve a special resolution on Belarus, decided to mark out finanacial and other support to independent mass media of the country, Belarusan students and involve the youth in European exchange programs.
P.S.
By the way the most “disobedient” deputy in PACE is leader of Russian liberal-democratic party Vladimir Jirinovski. The latter breaks the order periodically and gets reproofs from the Chair. The latter also has to demand from the deputies to switch of their mobiles every now and then during and after the sitting.
